My purple velvet cotehardie! I tried collage-ing this one so I could share all the angles in one image.
I made this for medieval reenacting in the SCA. The style is late 14th century French, though we see a lot of similar gowns throughout western Europe in this age - as can be expected, since those areas interacted so much!

My dress is cotton velvet, fully lined in gold silk. In the same gold silk, I made detachable sleeves, a belt, and a tressour crispinette - the hat. I did some hand beading on the hat and dress, and the sparkly trim was purchased in the closest approximation -within my aesthetic- I could find to period beaded trim. The necklace is made with real pearls, as is the hat. The buttons were all made by hand, and the buttonholes were hand sewn.
