Purple Red and Gold Medieval Gown

This gown, known as cote­hardie, kir­tle, cotte, cote, or gothic fit­ted gown, is based on early 15th cen­tury Euro­pean sources, particularly Duc de Berry's Tres Riches Heures. The gown is made of linen because I live where it gets very warm, and the contrasting band and tippets are silk velvet. The trim is made by hand, and the hat is brocade.
