Created for a themed event, this is a late 14th / early 15th century historical take on Morgan Le Fey. Throughout the 14th century, legends of King Arthur developed in popularity. Though the story of Arthur took place much earlier, I wanted to capture Morgan Le Fey through the style of this period.
This gown, known as cotehardie, kirtle, cotte, cote, or gothic fitted gown, is based on late 14th - early 15th century European sources. The dress is made of linen. The buttons are all handmade. The bottom hem features a contrasting fabric that matches the pin-on sleeves, all done with counterchange buttons. The accessories include some magical elements and dried herbs and oils and tinctures I created, all based on period alchemy and arranged on my person with a fun magical touch.
I love this period, and I had a lot of fun playing all witchy with it!
